If any of you have been to Piney River Ranch in Vail, you know you have to work to get up there.  With the bumpy road leading to this gorgeous venue tucked away in the mountains, you are richly awarded as you drive under the rustic Piney River Ranch sign.  There before you is one of the most magnificent views.  Towering mountains being reflected in the lake below.  It’s stunning.

Then you add in a couple who planned their wedding to match their surroundings.  A gorgeous gown that fit Blair perfectly, florals cascading over the tables and a ceremony site that beats all other ceremony sites.  Plus the most precious part….a pillow was made from Blair’s grandmothers wedding dress.  We made sure to capture Blair & Brian’s wedding rings on it.  Something old colliding with a new beginning.

The day began with clouds threatening as they loomed over the mountains while we took bridal shots of Blair among the groves of aspen trees.  But luckily it never made it’s way over.  After these two said their I Do’s, we hopped in the cutest little canoe labeled Luv Boat, and paddled around the lake.  Seriously, I was waiting for it to pour and had instant dreams of a Notebook style shoot.  But  we didn’t get drenched…which was probably better in the long run, but we did get to capture images that, I think, define a Colorado mountain wedding.

These two are crazy about each other as they danced the night away.  Blair & Brian, thank you for having me capture this gorgeous day….and being brave enough to go out in the canoe in your wedding dress!  You two are awesome.
